Baking: Chocolate Chip Cookies

Hi. This is my first Sunny Sunday on my blog so I thought I would kick it off with a baking post. 

You will need:

  • 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 sticks of butter
  • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup of packed brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet chocolate)

First you need to  preheat your oven to 375 degrees fahrenheit Then in a mixer combined the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract.  

Beat slowly until everything looks evenly mixed in. Now, turn on the mixer and add one egg at a time.  Turn off the mixer and add the flour to the top off the egg, sugar, and vanilla mixture. I don't like to mix every thing separately so I mix it all into one bowl. Then add the baking soda and salt on top of the flour. Now fold everything together with a spatula. Once everything is mixed in together for the most part finish mixing with the mixer. Now it's time to add the chocolate chips, when the mixer is still on, pour the chocolate in slowly.  

       

 

 

 

 

Once everything is together in a bowl your oven should be heated. Make your cookie dough into little globs and put onto a baking tray. My tray was able to fit 12 globs of dough. 

Put the cookies into the oven for 9-11 minutes depending on your over, mine took 10 minutes. 

When the cookies are out of the oven put then on a cooling sheet. While you are waiting, put another batch of cookies into the oven. 

Your dough should make about 5 batches but debating on how big you want the cookies to be it could make less. 

Now grab a glass of milk and sit back and enjoy those cookies.
