Stress Relief

With a ton of exams coming up in school I thought it would be an appropriate time to share my top ten ways to relieve stress. 

1. Drink tea (and eat a cookie)

I have been loving tea lately. I have always been a fan but after I got a tea infuser for Christmas, It's been my favorite beverage. The tea I picked out to go along with the infuser is called Relaxation so it's perfect for de-stressing.   

2. Pet an animal

It is tested that petting a dog (or any animal) is a good way to relieve stress. For me this is 100% true. Whenever I need to de-stress or chill I always go pet Jack, my dog. 

3. Read

Reading is a perfect way to send your mind to a different place. Lately I have been reading Tyler Oakley's book, Binge and it's really good so far. reading about someone else's life is definitely a good way to get your mind off of whatever is going on. 

4. Take a walk/exercise

Exercise is another way tested to relieve stress. It's also a good way to get some fresh air and do some thinking. 

5. Watch a movie or T.V. show

Maybe you need a laugh to relieve your stress? Watching a comedy or whatever genre of your choice is a good way to get your mind off of the things stressing you out. Lately I have been loving Sherlock (which is not a comedy in particular) but I also love The Middle and The Goldbergs for T.V. shows. 

6. painting

Being the creative person that I am I love getting rid of my stress with paint. The medium I really like right now is watercolor and have been doing it a lot lately. 

7. Write

Whether it's writing my (second) book or just writing little things down in my art journal- I'm most likely doing it if I need to relieve stress. 

8. Sleep

Of course getting to bed early is a good idea to refresh and de-stress yourself. 

9. eat your favorite food

Maybe you just need comfort? Eating your favorite food is good for that. Personally I like brownies and ice-cream (mmmm).  

10. listen to music

I am such a huge music lover, I love to sit back with a cup of tea, pencil and art book in hand and listening to music to de-stress. Lately I have been Loving Lisa Mitchell and Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin.
