diy chalkboard wall

IMG_3665.JPG

I was ready to change up my bedroom. So the only logical way to do this was to paint an entire wall with black chalkboard paint. It wasn't hard and I am in love with the results. Here's how to make your own CHALKBOARD WALL!

you will need-

  1. chalkboard paint (found at Home Depot)

  2. paint brush

  3. paint roller

  4. plastic tarp

  5. painter's tape

  6. chalk (of course)

step one-

using painters tape, mask off anything you don't want the black paint all over. Lay down plastic tarp.

step two-

cut around the corners where the paint roller won't fit with paint brush.

step three-

use paint roller to fill in entire wall.

step four-

wait three-four hours before recoating the wall with paint brush and roller.

step five-

let paint dry overnight. then cover in chalk to cure the chalkboard.

step six-

wait twenty minutes before erasing the chalk. in this time, clean up the dust. BEWARE it will be everywhere.

step seven-

erase chalk with a damp rag. be sure to clean rag in between coats.

step seven and one half-

yay! you're done! now it's time to doodle.
